”Kistefornøyelse”
The sitting-room in Vik Farmhouse dates back to 1807, but is still in use. The sitting-room is filled with spirit and rich in tradition which Ingeborg wishes to share with you through the Kistefornøyelse. She will tell you about the old traditions and show you home art and crafts articles like woven carpets and old fine embroidery. These items have belonged to the farm for generations. Ingeborg will further tell you about a socially committed family, that has brought up two members of the “Stortinget” – the Norwegian Parliament – and the cabinet of ministers. Last, but not least, she will tell the story of King Olav the fifths visit to the farm in 1960. Guided tours, coffee and cakes are available on request.
